Jefferson Pool

The water fun at this park is great! From the newly refurbished pool, now offering a separate area for smaller children, or those who have limited abilities in the water, to a state of the art filtering system this pool is a great place to wile away those summer afternoons. The newly built spray park offers a great variety of fun during the hot months of summer. The pool is open afternoons, and weekends, with lifeguards on duty during all working hours. The spray park is open from when the weather starts to get warm, usually in May, to the end of the hot weather, usually mid-October, and is free for all to use.

MLK Pool

Do you enjoy swimming? Would you like your child to learn to swim? During the summer months, the pool at this park offers swimming lessons, before and after recreational swimming. These lessons are well worth the investment! It allows your children, or even adults, to learn to be comfortable in water and build their strength and skills and gives them the confidence needed to save their life if they get into a tough situation in a body of water. The pool usually opens after school ends for the year, and remains open until the last weekend before school begins. So whether you are coming to learn to swim, or are coming just to cool off with friends and family, you are always welcome to our pool!

McMurtrey Aquatic Center

The multi-use facility is located at 1325 Q street. The facility features an 8,551 square foot recreation pool and a 50-meter competition pool. Other amenities include a double water slide, a water volley ball area, and specially designed interactive wet play equipment.
Silver Creek Pool
[Location: Harris & Reliance
]
Silver Creek Park features a 25 yard pool with a small wading pool. This pool is programmed in the summer and offers swimming lessons and recreational swim. This pool is available for rental in the summer on weekend evenings only.

Bakersfield City Pool Rules:
- Participants must wear swim suits. Shirts, shorts, denim, or cut-offs are not permitted.
- Only U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets are permitted.
- Non-swimmers under the age of 18 and children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Children ages 5 and under require one-on-one adult supervision.
- Swim diapers are required for children under the age of 3 or for older children not completely toilet trained.
- No outside food or drinks allowed. (Food and drinks allowed at Silver Creek and Jefferson Pools on the grass areas ONLY.)
- Must be 48 inches to ride the slides at McMurtey Aquatic Center.
- Diving boards at McMurtrey are open during supervised diving programs and special events only.
